PATRIOT GO BAG

Lauren with Eagle Industries Alpha III Pack
Lauren with the Eagle Industries Alpha III Pack

I have been a very satisfied owner of Eagle gear for more than twenty years.  I still own my first Eagle bag, a Beta gear bag.  It remains my primary travel bag.

I had a seam open up on one of the side pockets of a Sigma bag once (I had overloaded the pocket and left it in a place where the sun got to it for months - it was my fault) and I sent it to Eagle.  I expected a bill, instead I received my bag a few weeks later and they had repaired it to new condition.

I can endorse the company and their products without reservation.

I purchased the Alpha III Pack about 3 years ago, pictured here with one of our Models, Lauren.  I bought it for the specific purpose of loading it out as a 72 hour tactical pack, the purpose of this website.

I have found the Alpha III met every expectation I had for an Eagle product.  The stitching is strong and the workmanship is first class.  I examined every single Molle loop and could not find a single weak stitch or flaw.

The design works for me.  Loaded out with the tactical gear needed for a sudden 72 hours of action in the field, the Alpha III gets the job done.  Loaded up, the pack slips easily into place and the straps are well-positioned to distribute the weight properly.  The pack rides well on the back and does not adversely affect balance.

The primary chamber is a spacious 16x20x7 and includes a pocket divider.  The zipper wraps so as to permit wide opening of the chamber for ease of loading and accessing gear.  The next chamber is shaped as the primary, and measures 12x16x2.  A final pocket includes a slash zipper and measures 12x16 and is ideal for relatively flat items.

A velcro strip follows the slash zipper on the flap, ideal for a name tag, and above it is a 3.5x2 velcro rectangle for a unit patch (might I recommend our III Patch?)

There is a carry handle sewn into the top curve of the pack that is very useful, I find myself using it all the time.  It is far more convenient than reaching for the straps every time you want to pick up the pack.

I have only one suggestion for Eagle, and it has nothing to do with design or quality of the products they produce.  I buy all of my gear in OD, traditional Tiger Stripe or ABU, and I hope Eagle begins to offer ABU & Vietnam Tiger soon.

The Eagle Alpha III Pack is a Five Star product.
